Non-Fiction Proposals:

According to John Wood in Attention Grabbing Query and Cover Letters, a typical non-fiction proposal should include:

1. Synopsis of the book (one page)
2. Table of contents (one page)
3. Chapter Summaries (ten pages or more, approx. one to three pages per chapter)
4. Market Analysis (two or more pages)
5. Author`s Qualifications (one page)

And a Fiction proposal should include:

1. A ten to twenty-five page synopsis (each chapter one to three pages) including character description, quotes from your text and displaying plot structure.
